Each Sunday leading up to the big show, head on down to Om Lounge (92 Winthrop St.) in Cambridge for a rotating showcase by some of this year’s performers. This exciting showcase is in partnership with Kings and Queens Sundays and “Big Chicago” Reggie Beas. Every Sunday from 6-11pm enter to win a free pair of tickets to the New England Urban Music Awards.

Voting is Now Open
Voting for the 2009 New England Urban Music Awards is now open. Visit ne.urbanmusicawards.org/vote to cast your ballot after reading the rules. Voting ends March 15 so vote today.

Voting Coming Soon!
As the excitement surrounding the 2009’s NE UMA awards show builds, many have asked “When does voting begin?” We’re happy to announce that voting will begin on Monday, February 9. Voting will take place online only and will operate on a one person/one ballot system, which means multiple submissions from the same individual will not be counted. More details to follow.
Nominations Have Ended!
Nominations for the 2009 NE UMAs are now closed. Between September and the first week of January you sent in well over a hundred nominees spread across many categories. Thank you!!!
The last updated nominee list will be published Sunday. Nominated artists, remember to send in your submission packets (details on the Nominees page) by midnight Tuesday January 20 to move on to the voting round. If there is an asterick by your name, we have recieved your packet.
Nomination Deadline Approaching - New Audition Date
Don’t forget to nominate your favorite New England artists before January 7 midnight. All submissions after will not be counted. If you are an artist who has already been nominated, send in your submission packet by January 9. Visit the Nominees page for more info.
Due to the overwhelming response to artists requesting to perform at the 2009 New England Urban Music Awards we will host an audition on Monday January 12 at 7pm. Go to the Performers page to register.
