New England Urban Music Awards Host 7th Annual Ceremony
Artists to Showcase Creative Talent
Boston, MA – The 7th Annual New England Urban Music Awards (NEUMA), a tribute to the region’s musical talent, will be held on May 6, 2012, at Hibernian Hall, located at 184 Dudley Street.
The awards ceremony will feature a performance by R & B Recording Artist Noel Gourdin, who is nominated for Best Album of the Year nominee for “Fresh: The Definition,” a Top Notch Music compact disc that includes the lead single “Beautiful.”
There are 30 NEUMA nomination categories, including R & B Female, R & B Male, Gospel, Dance Group and Jazz Band. A new category this year, Voices in the Community, will pay tribute to a group of artists who work toward social justice. These artists completed a compilation CD entitled “What is Beautiful Never Dies,” which was produced by Disc Jockey Darrell “Third Eye” Jones. Both Queen Yonasda Lonewolf Hill, a published writer/Hip Hop artist, and Malik Yusef, a five-time Grammy Award winner, are on the project and are invited to the awards ceremony. Yusef’s most recent Grammy Award was for Best Rap Song featuring Kanye West for “All of the Lights” in 2011. He is a spoken word artist, poet, film producer and actor.
